The impossible interview.

It has become a matter of fact for the graduates to hold a naukri or monster account. I'm no different and I have my daily dose of mails pouring into my mail box.
Most of which, after screening, goes to deleted items.

Today, I had an email from British Petroleum Company Plc (UK).
It read "...join one of the world biggest Oil and Gas... blah blah...We received your CV. It was sent to the office of the Recruit Team for screening. Your qualification has met with BP first Round of recruitment, therefore you have been sent our company's Application Form and Terms and Conditions for your kind view"

Today was no different, I had to delete it. I had to cringe while deleting it as it offered 65k GBP, but alas since the interview was held three days from now in London I had no choice but to delete ;(
Before I deleted the email, something caught my eye. First was the "Equal Opportunities Monitoring Form" and the second was more interesting than the first "POLICY STATEMENT ON THE RECRUITMENT OF EX-OFFENDERS"

The Application form said :
BP is committed to the fair treatment of its staff, potential staff or users of its services, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependents, age, physical/mental disability or offending background.
Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us. This will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of your offenses.

I am awed! I have only watched movies that show the lives of offenders (who might have accidentally committed the act) being put to waste because of the criminal record.

I pray (a) that the crime and criminal activities on earth reduces
(b) that more people learn to embrace the emotions of the EX-offenders who have now turned on a new leaf.
