Squeezing out some time.

Life has been SO tightly packed that I wouldn't be surprised if I forgot to breathe. I should thank the stars for 'Diwali' as I found some time after ages, here I am typing incessantly at the keys ins spite of my mind being blank.

My head says - Welcome to the corporate.
I continue the initiated small talk replying - Welcome to the world.

Hell yeah! Welcome to the world.
Who on this planet with a purpose had all the time on earth to his-self? Of course, I have a purpose. Don't ask me what. I need some free time to analyze that aspect (Tactical procrastination) Thanks to all the time management sessions that spoke of everyone having the same 24 hours et al. Not just that, but how to manage time. But, please. All I need is a break.
So, for once I decided to do away with the planning part and religiously follow the 'Gita'

Karmani ave adhikars te
--you have the power to act only
ma phalesu kadachana
--you do not have the power to influence the result
ma karmaphal hetur bhoo
--therefore you must act without the anticipation of the result
ma sangostu akramani
--without succumbing to inaction

So here I am acting, without thinking of the results or the lack of time. Crib. Crib :|

2009 revised version.

Looking back at the posts, I have been VERY wrong about judging 2009. The M word was taken my way! *yay* It has not only been the best but the bestest of all my 25 years! Should I worry about grow old? No, never. He made my 25th birthday the bestest and pinkest. He brought Juno into my life and she looks SO much like Milo. [Sod it. I'm just too lazy to upload photos. Someday I will]

Oh yeah, and I need not worry anymore about not contributing to the growing Indian economy anymore! Tee-hee.. I bet there wouldn't be anyone even on Planet Z who loves to go to work :D [yeah, I know, the stress would be unmanageable and all that. But who really cares?]

There can be more posts from me...
grumbling about the world, life and more!
But today is my day - Carpe diem! :D
I'm wearing rose colored glasses, sailing on cloud nine, loving life!
What more do I want? ;)

Jack's gone, to a better place.

King of pop as he was rightly called was the winner of 13 Grammys, and the son in law of Elvis Presley (one of his marriages was to Lisa Marie Presley). MJ's gone, to a much better place, cos the earth wasn't in his favor since 2001. He was in and out of controversies. I liked him before he experimented with vitiligo and later. I loved "Bad" and "Dangerous" beyond words. Scream by he and sister Janet Jackson was definitely a shout of their feelings.

I liked him in my own way. But, just that it was hard to see talent and controversies apart. To me, they were chapters of the same book. They were never two books. When I had to finally judge the book, I had to judge it on the whole. [Exempli gratia - Eddie Murphy, who had his shares of ugly linen]

When acquaintances who disliked KOP flood messages of RIP, how sad they feel that a talent is lost and how fanatical fans they were, it makes me remind of the books "The Catcher in the Rye - J. D. Salinger" or "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Mark Haddon" wherein faking was abhorred.

When you have decided to like someone whole-heartedly, love them. Cos you never know when they're not gonna be around. There's absolutely no point in loving them later. This goes for celebs as well as your loved ones back home. Tsk Tsk.

Alchemist-quote doest work!

Last three weeks have been SO packed up that many a time I almost forgot to breathe. Every day was as special as it could be, birthdays to wedding; ahem squeeze my day between them. Nita's reception was fab, food was fab square. Dad's birthday was AS special AS always! (shhh... keep it to yourself - dad hardly seems to be aging). Then came Magss result which had all of us smiling! Couple em with Jai's mehendi-reception-marriage which set three of my days super packed. It was AMAZING! Especially to catch up with the girls after an eternity :D

After all the hopping around, I was down with hay-fever... of course got over it after popping anti-histamines. This Saturday was a MEGA washing day, which left poor me running upstairs and downstairs with buckets of clothes :|

Finally I was breathing at a normal pace yesterday. All of a sudden, I had to remind myself of Paulo Coelho. Maams came home with wet dough packets, which he had apparently left in the bike. I was asked to pick them up. I did an excellent job of breaking the strings and dropping the WHOLE packet of wet dough on the portico. Not to forget, it was 10.30 PM. Later, did amends by washing the whole area. Phew. It was SO disgusting. MAN!!! Why can't one breathe???

When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.

I certainly did not want to finish my day like that.

Irrelevant Sequence

I was angry.
He was busy.
I eased my tension with an sms.
His eyes were intense and calm.
I had butterflies in my stomach.
Wonder what happened there?
I heard laughter.
They had me talking.
I was thinking before I talk.
He had to deliver lines.
There were humorous initiators!
Banquet was laid.
I bade goodbye.
End of Act I

I called up.
He was busy.
He called up.
I spoke it all.
His voice was intense and calm.
End of Act II

A black and white day.

Today's feel good factor (read: feel funny factor) was this read. I couldn't help but smile at the author's astuteness! ;)

Ah so.. sometimes in spite of trying to wear rose-colored glasses, blackness can creep from nowhere. Today is one such day and I'm battling it. The strategy I have implied today is ward off the darkness with a dark rich chocolate cake. With about 00:53:46 minutes of surfing the net, 40, 345 packets sent and 54,897 packets received; here I am with quite a bunch of Chocolate cake recipes.
I have piles to bake before I sleep, I should say? :D

Voted... and made it count?

I had my march to the polling booth, had my finger marked and voted. Talking of the elections. The media tried to prop up more awareness than they had in the yesteryears. Right from the jagore campaign to TOI's full first page advertisement about "Making your vote count".

Also, there were a few advertisements splashed on the newspaper reading "Make your vote count. Show your marked finger to avail 25% discount on the bill". Apparently by one of the food giants "Dhaba Express" [It is unfortunate to think that one has to lure people, by such perks, to make one vote].

There are enough problems already. The common ones being : Voting machine problems, Voter bribing, Voters name missing; of the many. It occurred to me today that one must not give room for anyone to cast a "Forged vote". How do you do that? Educate people? Conduct workshops and campaigns??
NO.
Just wake up early enough, walk up to the polling booth and cast your vote before someone else does it :D

When it comes to voting, I believe, the uneducated at least go by what their heart says. But the educated man keeps thinking of all the pros and cons of a candidate from N different points of views.. Ultimately ending up in saying "Why should I vote? Anyway another corrupt big bellied bully is on the way". Yeah, many a time I felt the same too. But, today I did make my vote count. Just because, I did not want anyone taking advantage of "my NOT voting" and using the opportunity to cast "Forged votes".

The poor turnout of votes, so far in the other Metros, stunned me. As the cliché goes : Small drops of water, make a mighty ocean.
Of course, who knows what the voter turnout would be in my city?
The future's not ours to see... que sera sera!
